ORIBE x KUSTAA SAKSI

This holiday season, Oribe's celebration of craftsmanship comes to life in collaboration with multidisciplinary Finnish artist, Kustaa Saksi. In his work, Saksi explores geometry, collage, fractals and symmetry through traditional Jacquard weaving, using a unique combination of natural and modern materials woven into and between yarn. “I love working with threads, because it feels like connecting to history and tradition in a very real, tactile way,” he says.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Saski's work titled “Golden Threads" is a woven masterpiece that draws inspiration from the Oribe Goddess emblem in its depiction of the Norse goddess Sif’s golden, flowing hair—which symbolizes the prosperity of nature's seasons. This homage to beauty, nature, and craft adorns our gift sets with ornately layered gold foils and intricate embossing that elevate the packaging into a work of art.
